Four SX Futures Wins in a Row for Monster Energy® Kawasaki Team Green's Ryder DiFrancesco
Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green’s DiFrancesco came into Arlington undefeated in the SX Futures Class. The Team Green rider utilized his experience gained through the SX Futures program as he quickly mastered the Arlington track. Blitzing across both whoop sections and matching the biggest rhythm combinations of his professional counterparts, DiFrancesco once again established himself as a top contender of the field. When the qualifying sessions wrapped up, DiFrancesco’s 52.605 lap time earned him second gate pick for the Main Event.
In the SX Futures Main Event, DiFrancesco rounded the first turn with the lead and quickly set sail. The No.23 Kawasaki rider attacked the track with precision as he controlled the race from the front. After fending off pressure in the opening laps, DiFrancesco broke away to a sizable lead when the rider in second place made a mistake through the whoops. DiFrancesco’s gap was decimated however when a mistake of his own in the corner after the finish led to a small crash on Lap 4. DiFrancesco remounted in the lead and quickly regained his composure, holding on to the top spot and securing his fourth consecutive SX Futures Main Event win.
“The track had two sets of whoops and a really big rhythm in the lane running the length of the stadium. I attacked all of it with speed and consistency, so I would say that’s a big positive from the day. I’m here to gain experience, which I certainly feel like I have, so to secure my fourth straight SX Futures win is an awesome bonus.”
